Our
Cruising Area's
The 1000 Islands

The Thousand Islands lies in the St. Lawrence River, running along
the Canadian side of the border from Kingston
to Brockville, Ontario, a distance of
less than 80 km (50m). The Canada/U.S. border runs down the middle of the
islands and is clearly shown on all charts. This is one of the best cruising
areas anywhere in the world. It has many anchorages, beaches, sport-fishing,
tour boats, small towns, campgrounds, and a Canadian federal park as well as US
State parks.
The actual number of islands in this area is closer to two
thousand, with the
official count standing at 1,793. The "Forty Acres" is a favorite of sailors because it is close to
the many park islands south-west of Gananoque.
