Welcome to the Kingston Power and Sail Squadron web site.  Our Squadron has been in existence since 1954, and is devoted to promoting safe boating through education.  We regularly provide courses to enhance public knowledge and boating safety.  We serve the Kingston, Ontario and surrounding areas.  Our boating area is at the east end of Lake Ontario, Canada and is world famous.  Among sailors it is known as the fresh water sailing capital of the worldWe are adjacent to the famous Thousand Islands that attracts cruisers from the eastern seaboard and around the world.  Please check out our site and see what we have to offer to our boating public.

Squadron Picnic

Our Annual Picnic is again being held at Whistlers Bay

Saturday June 27. Rain or shine.

This is the squadron’s premier social event of the year and has become the best place to meet and make new friends, or to re establish old acquaintances.   We are looking forward to another entertaining picnic and reunion.  So come out and do what boaters do.  By popular demand we are again serving steaks, baked potatoes, bean salad, and desserts.  Tea/coffee will be provided plus hot dogs for the children.  Bring your own beverages, chairs, tables cutlery, plates, glasses etc. as required.  Come by Boat or Car.

BOATING NEWS

Attention Bay of Quinte Boaters

Boaters transiting the Bay of Quinte in Eastern Ontario should be aware that a popular spot for transient boaters will be unavailable during the 2009 boating season. The former Morch Marine in Belleville, Ontario, renamed Belle Harbour Marina two years ago, is in receivership and has closed the Marina to the public.

While boaters may be tempted to tie up at the docks at Belle Harbour in any case, they should be aware that there are absolutely no facilities available.   The Receiver has made it clear that any use of the docks or marina facilities will be considered trespassing.
